A New Scrappy Baby Quilt

My girlfriend has 2 granddaughters and is expecting a grandson.  She asked me to create something special!  Here it is!

I have made many quilts using orange and purple.  But purple didn't seem to be a good color for a little boy.  So, here I have combined dark green and shocking orange!

Bold Colors

My daughters have been telling me for a long time that it's time to make a beautiful quilt for my own bed!  so, I got to work, in honor of our 42nd anniversary (it's hard to believe!) and Ron's birthday, which is quite a milestone, and I created this quilt.  The pattern is similar to the one that I made for Dahlia's bed, a few years ago (also a convergence quilt).

How to:
take 17 X 21" pieces of 2 contrasting fabrics and cut them in strips -- 1.5", 2.5", 3", 3.5", 5", 5.5".  Then put them together in descending and ascending order.  Isn't the effect stupendous?

Little Boys play with Dolls too!!

We received a special order from Etz Lenu B'Hatzer in Abu Ghosh for little doll quilts in boy colors!

They are made with scraps from jellyroll quilts -- pieces from 2 1/2" strips.

Lap Quilt

I just finished making this lap quilt to match the enormous king size quilt that I made for my sister about 2 months ago. She and her husband have a big TV chair in their bedroom, so I thought something matching would look nice on the chair. The colors are a bit loud and it's in the scrappy quilt style. Can you see the 12" blocks?

Blues and browns were the colors at Hana's wedding -- just 43 years ago!

It's Springtime!

The weather is beautiful in Jerusalem. The air is clean, the sky is blue and Pesach cleaning is upon us! I decided that I had to quickly finish this Coexistence Quilt, so that I would have plenty of time to get ready for Pesach! Hope you like this one!

As in previous Coexistence Quilts, I have used the element of stacked bricks to symbolize the building blocks of a joint future together here in Israel.

The quilt is created around a central element which is a unique piece of embroidery made by a Bedouin woman from Laqiya in the northern Negev. These women have gotten together for self-empowerment to create and sell their own embroidery. Their non-profit is called "The Association for the Improvement of the Status of Women: Laqiya" and they run a shop not far from the mosque in Laqiya.
