My oldest grand-daughter is 8 years old and has often expressed interest in my quilting. This week she designed a baby girl quilt as a present for a close friend. First, she decided that it should have a central element -- similar to the Bedouin embroidery in the quilts that I make. And she chose butterflies as the central motif! Using 3 inch squares, she just moved on from there! She even learned how to sew (a little bit) on my fancy sewing machine.
Here is the final product!

Carriage Quilt
I recently pieced together this new baby quilt. Then Hana suggested adding the floral border and the light purple edging. Both elements add so much! The quilt is made from 3 inch squares.

Baby Quilts
I have a stash of fabric scraps and I came up with an idea to cut the scraps into 3" squares and use them for carriage quilts. Just finished three new ones!

It's a Girl!
Amy's daughter had a beautiful little girl this week! She is delicate and sweet and all is well with mother and daughter!
Here is the cute carriage quilt that Amy made for her. After all, she needs a quilt from her savta, for coming home from the hospital!
The quilt is made up of 3 inch squares, measures about 24 X 36 inches and is 100% cotton.
