Trucks and Planes

This quilt (made with 4 inch squares) was made for my grandson who is soon to be three years old!  He's a big shot and wouldn't sleep anymore with the small quilts that I had made for him in the past.  So here's something bigger with trucks, boats, planes, and extra terrestrials!  With love from Savta!

Floral Couch Quilt

I have been quilting feverishly during the past week.  It's been hard being at home, not feeling well, and being somewhat quarantined!  But now I'm feeling better!  Here is a purple and green floral couch quilt made from 4 inch squares with a wide floral border.

Table Runners

This table runner features a beautiful piece of Bedouin embroidery made by my friends at Desert Embroidery in Laquiya.  These women make extraordinary traditional pieces which I am honored to integrate into my quilting.

If you have been following this blog for a while, you already know that I love combining purple with green.  These were the colors at my daughter's wedding, ten years ago!

This table runner was designed by my oldest granddaughter -- she's 6 years old!  She wanted to make a table runner for their coffee table in honor of her father's upcoming birthday!  She has a surprising talent for putting together colors and designing this piece.  She did the design and I did the implementation!

With Lots of Dots

Before Shabbat begins, I want to share a few quilts that I made this week.  I have been a bit under the weather, and quilting gives me so much pleasure and satisfaction that I forget how poorly I've been feeling!

This one, using different fabrics with dots, is a baby quilt with a flannel backing.  This is an adaptation of the standard 4 inch square design.

These two are small in size -- 16 X 24" -- and are made to be doll quilts.  My daughter's twins are having a birthday party in their nursery school this week -- they will be 4 years old!  And these little quilts, made with 4 inch squares, are a gift for the nursery school.

Happy New Year to All!

I sold about 4 baby quilts in the past month, so I wanted to quickly rebuild my stock.  But no sooner did I begin this one and one of my daughters has already claimed it!  She especially likes the funky flannel fabric on the back, which you can see peeking through as the edging all around! I, on the other hand, especially like all the dots!  I cut and sewed pinwheel blocks and put them together in a different pattern.
