Bags, Bags, Bags

It is so much fun to create quilted tote bags, diaper bags and pocketbooks!

Pictured here are samples of the pocketbooks, and one of the tote bags!

Reuben's Quilt

Made for Amy's nephew, this quilt is a variation on the traditional 4 inch squares. We used other elements such as triangles and larger squares with a car motif and mixed them all together.

Shai-Lee's quilt

Another playful quilt to cover or entertain baby! This one was made as a gift for the 1st granddaughter of good friends of ours.

Playful baby quilt

This playful quilt is perfect for the new baby in the house! Bright colors and cute animals entertain baby - hang it on the side of the crib or playpen or use it as a play mat on the carpet.

Pinwheels for little girls

This crib size pinwheel design is made in soft pinks and lilac. It is not yet complete - quilting still to be done.

Alternating Stripes

This quilt (with matching decorative pillows) was created for one of Amy's daughters. It is a queen size quilt made up of 4 fabrics which are cut in increasing sized strips and put together in large blocks.

The idea comes from a pattern that can be seen on the pillows, called "convergence", from Ricky Tims' Convergence Quilts.

Couch Quilts for two of Hana's children

These "scrappy" or "crazy" quilts were adapted from a packaged quilting kit, designed by Textile Creations, Inc.

The quilt on the right (shown folded) is in shades of green and purple while the one on the left uses colors of south west U.S.

Lev's Quilt

This quilt was made for Amy's 8-year-old nephew in Modi'in.

Her sister bought all the fabrics on a shopping foray to Joann's in Delaware.

What fun we had designing this one with all the dots!

Note that each block is different!

Although you see the quilt thrown over the couch, it is made as a twin size quilt for a child's bed.

Josh's Couch Quilt

Check out this TV quilt. It is made up of 4" squares in a very colorful pattern!

Amy's First Quilt

We have been quilting together for about 7 years -- sharing inspiration, equipment, and fabrics! It took us a long time to learn how to appreciate what colors go together, how to choose darker fabrics to be more dominant features, and how to make sure that each and every project is unique and remarkable.

I want to share here my first quilt! This quilt, made for my oldest daughter, Sari, is a single bed quilt (about 68 X 86 inches), using large floral prints. The flowers on the borders and in the corners are appliqued.

Sari has placed the quilt as a design element on her living room couch and it gives me great satisfaction to see it there!

Play station for baby

This play station, which can be made to match a "scrappy" quilt, can hang on a crib or playpen, or you can lie the baby on it on the floor. The toys are attached with velcro so that they can easily be removed by the baby or by Mom!

Scrappy Couch Quilt

Recently, we began making gifts in a small size that is comfortable for cuddling up in front of the TV. This quilt is 36 X 56 inches and is in the "scrappy" style. The combination of maroons and beiges gives it a very warm feeling on the couch.

Pinwheels

The color combination together with the pinwheel affect make this a very special baby gift!

Diaper Bags

We have also been having fun with diaper bags. Check this out --

Based on a design by Jean Nolte found in FUN QUILTS, Summer 2007.

Rectangles

This set of matching quilts with decorative pillows was created for Amy's sister's guest room in her home in Delaware. The rectangles permit a wonderfully simple mix of florals and textures. The size is American standard twin bed size (68 X 86 inches).

The Scrappy Look!

These quilts are made up of nine patch blocks cut at funny angles so no two squares are the same!

Based on a design called "Uneven Nine Patch" by Sharon Hart found in FUN QUILTS, Summer 2007.

Sunburst

This baby quilt is made up of 5 sunburst blocks. Check out these wonderful colors and patterns. There are small animals peeking through! This quilt was made for Monique and Ben's new grandson in Melbourne.

The basic sunburst block is based on a design that I saw in "American Patchwork & Quilting", Oct. 2006, issue 82, by Alma Allen and Barb Adams, pp. 59-60.

Fun with Squares

Some of our most popular quilts are made up of 4 inch squares -- based on a beautiful combination of colors.
