New Baby Quilts
These two new baby quilts have delicious flannel backing! Both are made from jellyroll fabrics, which means that they are cut to 2 1/2" strips and made into a variety of designs. Of course, you can buy pre-cut strips in matching color sets. But I prefer to cut my own strips, mixing and matching sometimes outrageous colors!

Back in the Saddle Again
We've been out of commission for awhile because Amy was traveling and both of us were out of batting!
Here is Hana's latest addition -- another table runner using similar jelly roll shades of brown --
And Amy's newest couch quilt, made in the scrappy design. This one has a stunning turquoise backing.

Jelly Roll Table Runner
This table runner was made with a set of pre-cut jelly roll fabrics. Isn't it stunning?
We sell or give away most of our quilts, table runners, tote bags and placemats. But this one Hana chose to keep. Here you see it decorating her living room!

Thank God for Ceasefire
It hasn't been an easy time here in Israel/Palestine. Jerusalem has been relatively quiet, only a few sirens over the course of the 3 weeks, but enough to make you realize how crazy this whole situation really is. In our usual fashion of escapism, we have been nesting at home during this period, making a whole bunch of baby quilts!
Here they are!
This one is not pieced. Instead, it's made from one piece of a specialty fabric featuring the cutest animals!

My Breakfast Table!
I have been making table runners and sets of placemats as gifts for family and friends. Finally, I decided it was time to make one for my own home! Here is a large placemat that is made to fit my breakfast table -- which as you can see has a strange shape since it is designed to fit between two decorative cupboards with glass doors.

Jellyrolls
This jellyroll quilt is made to be a couch quilt. Although it emphasizes blues and browns, it actually offers a wonderful array of colors and prints!
Jellyrolls are fun rolls of quilting fabric that come in 2 1/2" strips, and can be cut and used in all kinds of ways. Here, you see them combined with scraps from previous quilting projects!

Little tiny strips mesh together to make the whole!
During the last rainy days here in Jerusalem, I decided to take out my stash and create something special. This is a small blanket - 36 X 44 inches (90 X 110 cm.) - meant to be a crib blanket or a couch quilt. It is made entirely from 2 1/2 X 4 1/2 inch strips! Isn't it amazing how the wide variety of colors and patterns all mesh together so nicely. On a cold winter day creating a quilt which brings warmth and pleasure to others can bring so much joy and satisfaction to the quilter!

Busy Bees
We have been busy getting ready a whole bunch of Chanukah gifts for sale. The smaller items sell better, so we've been making changing pads and carriage quilts.
The changing pads shown here are backed with nylon ski jacket material and are made with fabric from jelly rolls -- 2 1/2" X 4 1/2" pieces of fabric.

A Healthy, Creative and Peaceful New Year to All My Friends
I had a traumatic week -- my sewing machine was in for repairs and I was having a serious case of withdrawal! Two days ago I got the word from the technician that all is now well and I was able to get back into the groove of sewing and quilting.
Here is my latest quilt, based on an idea from my sister-in-law, Ann, that I add some letters and words and symbols to the baby quilts. This one has letters (in Hebrew and English), numbers, and pomegranates for the new year!
Our best wishes to a
ll our quilting friends!

A Spurt of Energy
I don't know how to explain it, but I've had a spurt of energy lately and am working on about 5 different crib-size quilts concurrently! None of these are quilted yet, but I couldn't resist the temptation to share with you!
Here are two pieced tops --
one is made from 4" squares
and the other from rectangles.
After I made my first jellyroll quilt last month, I searched through my stash and came up with tons of already cut 2 1/2 inch strips left over from previous projects. These two pieced tops are made from those strips arranged creatively in small blocks and then all fitted together.

Jelly Rolls
On a recent visit to the States, I purchased a book on Jelly rolls and a roll of 2 1/2" strips of batik fabrics for making a jelly roll quilt. The book I bought is called Jelly Roll Quilts by Pam and Nicky Lintott.
My first jelly roll quilt is pictured here.
The essential block (close-up) is made up of strips sewn together,
cut into large squares, cut in half,
and then the triangles are put together into these large 12" blocks.
This is a surprisingly easy way to make use of all those
2 1/2" strips that you have in your stash!
