I recently pieced together this new baby quilt. Then Hana suggested adding the floral border and the light purple edging. Both elements add so much! The quilt is made from 3 inch squares.
If you need any baby gifts -- we have lots to offer!

Coexistence Baby Quilts
We went to visit the Bedouin women at Desert Embroidery in Laquiya and delivered to them a new line of baby quilts integrating their embroidery. Here is the first batch!
We took home a whole pile of pieces of embroidery so that we could make more baby quilts for them!

Baby Quilts
I have a stash of fabric scraps and I came up with an idea to cut the scraps into 3" squares and use them for carriage quilts. Just finished three new ones!

Shabbat Shalom!
Hana just completed this gorgeous challah cover as a gift for a friend who is getting married. It is larger than usual, because the friend confided that she likes to put out three big challot on her Friday evening dinner table! The beautiful embroidery was done by machine at a shop in the Malcha Mall. The outer sashing is comprised of a novelty fabric which includes all kinds of Jewish symbols!

Pinwheel Quilt
My four-year-old grandson has recently moved into a big boy bed! This moment calls for a new quilt!
Using varied green and yellow fabrics, I made this pinwheel quilt. It measures 48" X 68". I hope he enjoys cuddling with it!
Thanks to Hana for all the artistic advice!

Wall Hanging
My sister and her husband are becoming snowbirds! They bought a house with a pool on Sanibel Island and have asked me to make them something special for their walls. First thing I did -- I went to Laquiya to order pieces of Bedouin embroidery in turquoise and gold. I used the embroidery as four corners around a central Florida sunburst, and two long pieces of embroidery, on the sides.

Hot off the Press!!
We went together to pick up our embroidery order at Desert Embroidery in Laquiya and talked with the women about helping them create a new "line" of products -- baby quilts that include their embroidery. They gave us a few samples of embroidery to use in the first few quilts, which they want to sell in their shop.
Here is the first one!!! It has calming colors and has a flannel backing.

Visit to Laquiya
I had a wonderful visit this week with the women who run the non-profit organization called The Association for the Improvement of the Status of Women, which is located in Laquiya. They told us all about their projects, one of which is a young leadership development program, and a wonderful young woman is the director of that program (she is also a graduate of the program). Other projects include a mobile library and, of course, the embroidery project, called Desert Embroidery.
I bought lots of pieces of embroidery for my coexistence quilts and table runners. And the friends who came with us also bought lots of pieces. More importantly, I ordered embroidery pieces for a wall hanging for my sister's new home in Sanibel Island on the west coast of Florida! Can't wait for these pieces to arrive so that I can get to work on this big project.
Here you can see a table runner, made with one of the pieces that I bought this week!

New Couch Quilts
These quilts are for cuddling up on the couch, in front of the TV, or with a good book. They are also a wonderful design element for your TV room or living room couch!
This one is made for Hana's living room couch! The colors are warm and delicious and go beautifully with her beige couch.
And this one has bold and bright colors. Both quilts are made in the scrappy style, which is an adaptation of a basic 9-patch design. Both quilts measure approximately 42" X 60".
